Name Our Turkey!
Our faithful Turkey Trot mascot for 35 years has had enough! This year he is demanding some recognition. We’re happy to oblige, but there’s only one problem: he doesn’t have a name.
Help us name our Turkey Mascot! If your name entry is chosen, you’ll receive a special prize at the start of Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving Day in Washington Park. Suggested names are due by 12 noon on November 26. The chosen name will be unveiled just prior to the start of the race on Thanksgiving morning.

How about Trotsky or Turkey Trotsky?
Turkey Trotsky could be a revolutionary animal rights activist leading a struggle to save his turkey comrades from the slaughterhouses. He could fight for the liberation of animals from the miserable enslavement of factory farms and the brutality of the animal agriculture industry which is responsible for the callous slaughter of more than ten billion animals each year in the United States.
Turkey Trotsky could draw inspiration from the character of Snowball in George Orwell’s novel “Animal Farm.” (”Two legs good. Four legs bad.”) His turkey troops could march to the tune of Dana Lyon’s song “Cows With Guns.”
Viva la revolution!
